Your Weekly Horoscope: October 5–11, 2026

If relationships have suddenly become confusing, an ex has appeared from the wilderness, you've started questioning a purchase you absolutely needed three weeks ago, or you've found yourself thinking, hang on, why DO I put up with this?...

Welcome to Venus retrograde.

And this one has some bite.

Venus turned retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, where she'll remain retrograde before moving back into Libra later this month. Venus rules love, relationships, pleasure, beauty, money and what we value. Scorpio wants honesty, intimacy, trust and absolutely no surface-level bullshit.

Put them together and October becomes a rather inconvenient audit of who we love, what we spend, what we tolerate and what we believe we're worth.

Before anyone panics, Venus retrograde does not mean your relationship is doomed or you're about to lose all your money.

It means review.

This week we're being asked to look at choices we've already made and decide whether they still fit.

On October 6, Mercury meets retrograde Venus, which puts words around some of those feelings. Old conversations can come back. Relationship issues may finally make sense from a different angle. You may understand why something bothered you months after it happened, which is annoying but useful.

Then Mars connects harmoniously with Uranus on October 7, bringing a little courage and willingness to do things differently. It's excellent "fine, I'll actually change it" energy. And then we arrive at Saturday.

The Libra New Moon

On October 10 we get a New Moon at 17° Libra.

Libra rules relationships, fairness, partnership, compromise and balance. New Moons are traditionally associated in astrology with beginnings and intentions, so this one puts a giant fluorescent highlighter over how we relate to other people.

But there's a catch.

Venus also squares Mars that day, creating tension between what we desire and how we pursue it. Attraction can be strong. Irritation can be strong. Chemistry can be strong. Patience may have apparently taken annual leave.

Translation?

Don't start World War III because someone loaded the dishwasher incorrectly.

This New Moon is less about creating perfect relationships and more about creating honest ones.

Where are you over-giving?

Where are you expecting someone to read your mind?

Where are you agreeing to things because saying no feels uncomfortable?

And perhaps most importantly, where are you asking other people to respect boundaries you haven't actually communicated?

There's your homework.

Now let's see what this cosmic carry-on means for your sign.

♈ Aries

You're naturally independent, decisive and usually happier doing something than discussing it for fourteen business days. Unfortunately, Libra season sits opposite Aries and puts relationships directly in your line of sight.

This week isn't asking you to become less independent. It's asking whether independence sometimes becomes I will just do everything myself and quietly resent everyone afterwards.

The Libra New Moon offers a relationship reset. Romantic partners matter, but this can also involve friendships, business partnerships or any important one-to-one relationship.

Your challenge is allowing another person's needs to exist without automatically seeing them as opposition.

Your move: Have the conversation. Explain what you need clearly, then actually listen to their answer.

♉ Taurus

You like stability. You like knowing where you stand. You generally don't appreciate the universe rearranging the furniture without consulting you first.

Unfortunately, your ruling planet Venus has just gone retrograde.

This can make you reconsider relationships, spending, appearance, pleasure and priorities. Something that felt valuable may suddenly feel less important, while something you've neglected could become impossible to ignore.

Don't rush to fix the discomfort.

You are figuring out what you genuinely value now, rather than what you've simply become accustomed to.

Your move: Audit your spending and your energy. Both are currencies. Stop automatically spending either on things you don't value.

♊ Gemini

Mercury, your ruling planet, meets retrograde Venus this week, making this especially interesting for you.

Something wants to be talked about.

An old conversation could return. Someone from the past might pop up. You may finally understand a feeling you've been trying to intellectualise.

Your brain will naturally want to investigate every possible interpretation. Try not to turn one text message into a six-part Netflix documentary.

The answer is probably simpler.

Your move: Ask the direct question instead of constructing the answer on someone else's behalf.

♋ Cancer

This week's Libra energy shines a light on home, family and your emotional foundations.

And because you're Cancer, there's a reasonable chance you've spent considerable time making sure everyone else feels safe while quietly operating on 4% battery yourself.

The New Moon gives you an opportunity to reset what home actually means.

That might mean changing your space. It might mean changing a family dynamic. It might simply mean deciding that your house doesn't have to look like Pinterest to feel good.

Your move: Create one little pocket of calm at home that belongs entirely to you.

♌ Leo

Mars and Jupiter are both travelling through Leo this week, bringing confidence, momentum and a fairly impressive amount of fine, I'll do it myself energy. Mars also connects with Uranus on October 7, encouraging experimentation and change. You're ready to move.

Just make sure you're moving toward something rather than reacting to something.

Venus retrograde can stir deeper emotional material underneath all that confidence, particularly around trust, family or what makes you feel secure.

Being strong doesn't require pretending you don't care.

Your move: Put your energy behind one meaningful goal instead of twelve exciting distractions.

♍ Virgo

The Moon moves through Virgo midweek, which suits your natural urge to tidy, organise and fix everything in sight. But the bigger story concerns value.

What deserves your time?

What deserves your money?

And why are you still doing that thing you complain about every single week?

Virgos are brilliant at spotting inefficiency everywhere except occasionally in their own lives.

The Libra New Moon invites a reset around resources and self-worth.

Your move: Find one recurring drain on your time, money or emotional energy and reduce it.

♎ Libra

Hello, main character.

Saturday's New Moon happens in your sign, giving you one of your strongest reset points of the year.

Libra gets stereotyped as indecisive, but you're actually brilliant at seeing every side of a situation.

The problem comes when understanding everyone else's perspective makes you forget you're allowed to have one too.

This week asks a very simple question:

What do YOU want?

Not what keeps everybody comfortable. Not what causes the least conflict. You.

Your move: Set one six-month intention that is entirely about you and take one practical step toward it.

♏ Scorpio

Darling, Venus retrograde has set up camp in your sign.

You are officially under renovation.

This can bring questions around identity, attraction, relationships, confidence and how much of yourself you've changed to accommodate other people.

Scorpio doesn't really do shallow transformation. When you change, you tend to shed an entire skin.

But you don't have to decide what the new version looks like immediately.

Observe first.

Your move: Give major relationship, appearance or financial decisions some breathing room. Review before you reinvent.

♐ Sagittarius

The Libra New Moon focuses attention on friendships, communities and the future you're building.

You may notice that some relationships still fit beautifully while others belong to an earlier version of your life.

That doesn't automatically make anybody bad.

Not every friendship ends with betrayal and dramatic unfollowing. Sometimes two people simply grow in different directions.

You're also being encouraged to think bigger about your future.

Your move: Spend time with someone who inspires you rather than someone you constantly need to recover from.

♑ Capricorn

Your career and public direction receive some serious attention under this Libra New Moon.

Before you immediately translate that into WORK HARDER, that's not necessarily the assignment.

You already know how to work.

This is about alignment.

Are you climbing the ladder you actually want to climb, or did you simply see a ladder and think, well obviously I must climb it?

Achievement feels very different when the destination matters.

Your move: Identify one thing you're doing purely from obligation and ask whether it still deserves a place in your life.

♒ Aquarius

Mars connects with Uranus this week, and because Uranus is your modern ruling planet, the urge to change something could arrive loudly.

Ideas, learning, travel and different perspectives are calling.

You don't necessarily need to book a one-way ticket to Europe because you had an existential crisis on Wednesday.

But pay attention to curiosity.

The ideas that keep returning usually deserve investigation.

Your move: Research one thing you've been curious about. No commitment required. Just follow the thread.

♓ Pisces

Venus retrograde is taking you into deeper territory.

Trust, intimacy, shared resources and emotional vulnerability may need revisiting. You might become particularly aware of where you're carrying feelings that don't actually belong to you.

Pisces empathy is beautiful.

Pisces absorbing everybody else's problems like an emotional Brita filter? Less useful.

You can care deeply without taking responsibility for fixing everything.

Your move: When you feel overwhelmed by someone else's situation, ask: Is this mine to solve?

THE TAKEAWAY

This isn't a week for throwing everything away and starting again.

It's a week for editing.

Venus retrograde asks us to look backwards long enough to understand what we're carrying forward. Mercury helps us talk about it. The Libra New Moon then asks us to choose what healthier balance could look like next.

And with the world already giving us approximately 47 things to think about before breakfast, you don't need astrology to become another thing you're doing "correctly."

Use it as a prompt.

Notice what comes up. Ask better questions. Make one small change.

No moon water required.

Although if moon water is your thing, babe, you do you.
